"We know what your family needs because we've lived it."
More Than Just Hosts —
We Are Your Wing Family.
When our son graduated BMT a couple of years ago, we realized families were traveling from all over the U.S. just to see their Airman for a few precious hours. We lived that graduation week—the rush to the Valley Hi Gate, the pride of the Coin Ceremony, and the desperate need for a quiet place to decompress afterwards.
We started Blue Star Cottages to serve our fellow military families. From the "Congratulations Airman" banner in the garage to a Blue Star coin gifted to every graduate, to the fully stocked kitchen for that first home-cooked meal in months, every detail is designed to honor your service and your family's sacrifice.
In our professional lives, Danette Sandoval serves as an Educational Diagnostician, dedicating her career to supporting students with special needs, while Pablo Sandoval is a Digital Product Leader with over 20 years of experience in technology and innovation. Our daughter Yliana built the guest communication system behind every stay—the message templates, automated workflows, and check-in and checkout sequences all have her fingerprints on them.
But our most important role is supporting our Airman and the BMT community—when you stay with us, you aren't just a guest, you're part of our extended military family.
The Blue Star Service Banner is a tradition dating back to World War I. Families hang a blue star for each family member serving in the armed forces. We chose this name with intention—because every guest who walks through our door is part of a military family, and we are honored to serve them.
